Can you sing opera even if you've never had formal training?
This video is of Grace LIN teaching how to sing “O mio babbino caro” from the opera Gianni Schicchi. In the first part, she offers guidance on sound production, resonance, controlled breathing, Italian vowel pronunciation, and trills. In the second part, she goes into instruction on individual verses in a step-by-step format, offering skills and tips on emotion and mood and on how to produce high and low notes. In the third and final part, she summarizes everything and sings the song in its entirety.
